St Andrew’s Morning Service

Our popular Sunday morning service for all ages.

The main church seats up to 180 comfortably and we are usually about 3/4 full so there’s always space for newcomers.
Visitors are most welcome to participate as they feel comfortable with no obligation to do or say anything.

Our only objective is to allow people of all shapes and sizes to meet God and receive what they need to live what Jesus called ‘life in all it’s fullness’.

A typical service will involve…
…singing modern praise and worship songs which are often words from the bible celebrating God to a modern tune played on keys, bass, guitar.
…prayers for the world, the local community and those known to us who need God’s help for their health or wellbeing
…a reading from the bible
…a sermon based on that reading and how the message behind it is relevant to our lives today
…a chance to reflect on all that’s been said
…coffee and chat in the hall afterwards

We share holy communion once a month on the second Sunday.  This is a special time which ties us into the church around the world and throughout history where we remember the events of the first Easter when Jesus died to save us.  There are other opportunities to receive communion throughout the month at our Midweek service and our sister churches St Mary’s and All Saints.

There’s always an opportunity to ask for prayer during or after the service from our trained and experience prayer team so you can leave feeling more hopeful and positive about the things in life that trouble us all from time to time.

We all begin at 10.30am in the church together and once a term stay together for the whole time.  Most weeks the children have the option of joining in something age appropriate in one of our side rooms after the first ten minutes together.

Don’t worry or feel embarrassed if you are late.  Nobody is judging you.  You are always welcome.  But we find it really helpful to arrive a few minutes early to prepare yourself to meet God.  That way you get the most out of the experience.  It’s also important if you are if you are in a group and you’d like to sit together.

The service is streamed on our youtube channel and remains there for several weeks for you to watch back or pass the link on to others who might be interested.
