Safeguarding Provisions for St Andrew’s Church Centre Hires

The existing conditions of hire for St Andrew’s Church Centre already require (point 2.x):

Where the centre is hired for activities that include children up to the age of 18 or vulnerable adults (other than wholly private functions) the hirer shall confirm in writing that any such group has an up to date safeguarding policy and that throughout the letting period there shall be an adequate number of trained adults who have been recruited through a process which has included the appropriate checks. The hirer shall produce a copy of their safeguarding policy if so requested by the PCC.

With the increasing focus on Safeguarding and associated responsibilities, the Church of England require us to go further in certain areas, e.g. for the church to be immediately informed of any actual or alleged safeguarding incidents. We therefore require all hirers and users of the church centre with children, young people or vulnerable adults complete the Additional Safeguarding Provisions Declaration. This can be done two ways:
