We are fortunate to have thriving children and young people’s groups at St Andrew’s and have around 25-40 under 16s who come each week. The children’s groups run every week unless it is All Age Worship or Seminar Sunday. After the start of the service, children and young people leave for their different groups for more learning and fun time together. There is a mixture of singing, drama, craft, prayer and stories as we seek to grow and nurture their faith.
We have recently reshuffled our children’s groups according to need and are adopting more of a flexible approach to ages so that we can meet the spiritual and developmental needs of each individual child. Helen Attree, our Children and Families Ministry Leader, oversees the children’s groups and supports the great team of leaders we have.
Creche: Ages 0-3 meet in the creche/chapel where the service is also relayed (sound and vision).
Younger groups (ages 3-5 and 5-8): meet in the Blue rooms
Older Group (ages 8-11): meets in the Yellow room
Pathfinders (ages 11-14): meet in the hall
All our leaders and helpers have been DBS checked and have received safeguarding training.
Please note: Children must be supervised by adult(s) whenever they are on church property (inside and outside). When they are in organised groups (as above), then they are supervised by our leaders and helpers; but at all other times they must be supervised by their parent(s), guardian(s) or whoever brought them.
