Online, one off, payment for giving to St Andrew’s.
If you are willing and able to give to us via bank transfer of funds, our preferred way for you to do this to give to St Andrew’s churches is via the Parish Giving Scheme. This UK national church run scheme is an efficient, zero cost to you (and us) way to give to tour churches here and is very easy to use to make a regular, or one off, payments. Please remember to check the gift aid box if you are able to do so and add to your giving this way.

More information on The Parish Giving Scheme and how to set up a one off or regular payment
What is it?
The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is a method of giving that aims to encourage generosity, efficiency and regularity in giving; helping the Kingdom of God to grow through the flourishing of properly resourced local churches, giving donors confidence that their money is being used well and helping PCCs to budget effectively. The PGS is now used by over half the dioceses of the Church of England to handle the regular bank giving of church members. The scheme offers donors a highly efficient, friendly service and ensures that their chosen church not only promptly receives the whole of their donation but also the gift aid on their gift.
How does it differ from giving by standing order?
In the PGS, regular donations will be made by Direct Debit to the PGS rather than directly to our church’s bank account. The PGS then pays your donation to the church (along with the Gift Aid on that donation if applicable). You will also have the option to include an automatic annual increase of your donation in line with inflation if you wish. Further details of how this simple scheme works can be found by clicking here.
Why are we using it?
Using this system will reduce the burden on the finance team as the tax claim will be handled by the PGS directly on our behalf. Secondly, by increasing donations in line with inflation (if you opt for this – you don’t have to), it avoids the issue of ‘static’ giving and provides a more stable income for us.
If you want to find out more about the PGS, please visit their website at www.parishgiving.org.uk
If you have any questions about the PGS, please contact Andy Lymer our Treasurer, on email: treasurer@standrewsmalvern.uk.
How do I do this?
The website steps you through this process in a very easy to follow way. From the landing page (see the link above) to select if you wish to give regularly or one off, then follow the instructions provided.
(Note – If you prefer you can call the PGS team to have someone help you with this – 0333 002 1271 you will need our parish code if you do this which is 42A642033. This service is open 9 – 5 Monday to Friday).
Full details of what is involved can be found here – but you will see this is a very simple process – link: www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/setting-up-your-gift/
Payments are made to PGS on the 1st of each month (you can’t pick a different date at this point sorry) and then passed on to us within a few days, along with the gift aid (if relevant).
(Note – Please remember to also cancel your current payment for that month if you have a regular gift set up with your bank or you may give two gifts in the month unintentionally)
Can the Finance team do this for me?
Sorry, but you have to do this process yourself. The Finance Team (or anyone else) are not allowed to set up this facility for you under PGS’s rules as this would breach basic security and safeguarding .
